Air-Britain Annuals & Registers

Business Jets International 2024

Business Jets International 2024

Steven Sowter and Barrie Towey – Editors in conjunction with the Air-Britain News Team

Now in its 39th year, BJI is THE reference work in this field. The current edition covers over 30,500 airframes in the extensive production lists, from the earliest Morane-Saulnier Paris and Lockheed Jetstars of the 1950s to the latest Falcon 6X and Gulfstream G800. Projects that never got past the prototype stage or are still under development are also covered in a short section on Experimental and Non-Production aircraft.

Our unique index system, listing 126,000 registrations, covers all known individual registrations carried by business jets over the last 68 years, listed by registration order with cross-referencing to type and construction number with current active marks shown in bold. Additionally for completeness, we also include a production list and index for the Gulfstream I and production lists for corporate airliners such as the Airbus family, Boeing BBJs, Canadair Challenger 800 and 850, Dornier 328, and Embraer Legacy and Lineage.

Civil Aircraft Registers of The British Isles 2024 (CARBI24)

Civil Aircraft Registers of The British Isles 2024 (CARBI24)

Editor Sue Bushell – In conjunction with the Air-Britain News Team

Believed to be the most comprehensive register available, CARBI 2024 lists all United Kingdom, Ireland, Isle of Man and Guernsey aircraft current on the register of those countries plus overseas-registered aircraft based in those countries. Also covered are aircraft that have joined but left those registers since publication of the last edition, and non-current aircraft still extant, under restoration, in storage, used for ground training purposes or resident in museums. The main sections of the register are updated to 1 June 2024.

Each individual entry contains the registration, accurate type, constructor’s number, original registration date, all previous identities, the registered owner(s) and the probable base. Extra information provided includes Certificate of Airworthiness and Permit to Fly expiration dates, no-flight and evidence of insurance dates, plus notes on the original aircraft constructor, markings and names carried and, if not active, the airframe’s status. The types in each section have been indexed.

There is a separate section containing the British Gliding Association register with handy cross-references to competition codes carried by gliders, including those that carry G- markings instead of BGA numbers.

The complete register of over 650 aircraft that come under the aegis of Aviation Heritage UK (formerly the British Aircraft Preservation Council) is included along with those that are known to be covered by the Irish Aviation Historical Council.

Further sections include civil-registered aircraft held by museums and collections in the UK and abroad, a decode table for aircraft flying with military serials, and lists of overseas registration and B-Conditions prefixes.

The handy tab system along the side of the page enables easy navigation from section to section.

Airline Fleets 2024

Airline Fleets 2024

Lyn Buttifant and Chris Chatfield - Editors in conjunction with the Air-Britain News Team

This year's edition of Airline Fleets extends to 848 pages, covering 3,118 operators in 202 countries.

This book is an easy-to-read, easy-to-use companion to our best-selling Airline Fleets Quick Reference (AFQR), covering not only the jet and turbine operators of AFQR, but piston operators (including helicopters) involved in parcel delivery, tourism charters, oil industry support, emergency medical, fire suppression and some police & surveillance activities, down to Cherokee Six and Ecureuil size.
Additional information to that in AFQR includes immediate previous identities, call-signs, special liveries, fleet numbers, leasing details and major operational bases with the relevant IATA codes. There are 44 pages of indices, including a list of operators removed since the 2023 edition with the explanation for the removal, plus IATA and ICAO operator designators cross-referenced to operator. There are also operator, nationality prefix and airline alliance indices. Most immediately useful are the additional 28 pages of jet and turbine aircraft in corporate, government and military VIP use, listed type-by-type, plus 3 pages at the end of the book for notes.

Overall, information including known Russian re-registrations is included up to 28th February 2024.
